  • aka: cryoglobulinemic vasculitis,
  • Vasculitis (cryoglobulins) causing purpura (legs), MSK (arthralgia, weakness), and renal (proteinuria, hematuria), classic pathway (C3↓, C4↓)
  • vasculitis causing purpura (lower extremities), arthralgia, weakness, renal (proteinuria, hematuria). Hx of hep C
  • cryoglobulins↑, blood precipitates (cloudy), classic (C3↓, C4↓), check for Hep C and M proteins
  • type 1 = monoclonal Igs (hyperviscosity). type 2 = inflammation + mixed Igs (purpura, arthralgia, weakness).
  • NSAIDs if mild. Immunosuppress & plasmaphoresis if severe
