  • heartburn esp after a meal (fatty food, mint, chocolate, EtOH, coffee, lying down) or at night (lying down).
  • endoscopy (red distal esophagus), EGD (if dysphagia, bleed, wt loss), pH test
  • lower sphincter (cardiac) relaxing
  • PPI, positional (avoid lying after meal, pillow elevation), life style (stop smoking, avoid fat, mint, etc), Antacid, H2 blocker
  • EGD = esophago-gastro-duodenoscopy
