  • Chest pain, cough, bloody sputum, fever, nightsweat, wt loss. Hx of being born or traveled abroad or prison
  • apical lung opacities with cavitation (CXR, necrotizing granuloma), sputum/lavage sample, acid fast stain, PPD+
  • 2 mo of INH, RIF, PZA, EMB then 4 mo of PZA, EMB. Isolate pt, prophylax contacts
  • INH = isoniazid, RIF = rifampin, PZA = pyrazinamide, EMB = ethambutol
