Pentose Phosphate Pathway

3G6P + 6NADP⁺ + 3H₂O → 2F6P + GAP + 6NADPH + 3CO₂
NADPH is used as a reducing agent for reductive biosynthesis.
F6P and G3P is used in glycolysis.
Produces R5P as an intermediate, which is used for nucleotide biosynthesis.
Occurs in the cytoplasm.
